Principles

Ion chromatography is the process of separating ions (positively or negatively charged atoms or molecules) from a solution using a stationary phase that contains oppositely charged ions. There are two main types of ion chromatography:
  • Anion exchange chromatography is commonly used in environmental sciences to measure negatively charged anions such as nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, and sulphate.
  • Cation exchange chromatography is commonly used to measure positively charged anions such as ammonia, sodium, or potassium.
  • SPD-M20A Prominence HPLC Photo Diode Array Detector provides users with the most advanced level of sensitivity and stability found in today\'s PDA detectors. The SPD-M20A attains sensitivity levels approaching the most advanced UV-Vis detectors. It has a high-sensitivity mode with an 8 nm slit width. Using light-source compensation, it offers a noise level of 0.6×10^-5^ AU, which is comparable to that of traditional UV-VIS detectors.
  • CDD-10AVP Conductivity Detector The innovative dual temperature control system and bipolar synchronous detection circuit provide high sensitivity and stability. Noise level: 0.004 µS/cm. using the VP functionality, in addition to pass/fail determinations based on conductivity measurements, the system is capable of automatic calibrations, including zero conductivity correction and span adjustments.

Applications

Analysis of anions and cations in liquid samples such as: - Food. - Beverages. - Petrochemicals. - Chemicals. - Environmental Samples.
