Kuwait University Participates in the Digital Transformation Competition and Student Representatives win Third Place.

Kuwait University participated in the closing ceremony of the 2nd iteration of the Ministry of Oil’s Digital Transformation Competition (Hackathon 2022), which was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel - 360 Mall, under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil Dr. Bader Hamed Al-Mulla, and in the presence of the Ministry of Oil Undersecretary Dr. Nimr Fahd Al-Malik Al-Sabah, Acting Director of Kuwait University Prof. Suad Muhammad Al-Fadhli, Ministry of Oil officials, oil company officials, and academics from the various participating universities and colleges. 

Three Kuwait University students won third place awards in the competition, and they are: Abdulaziz Daham Alshammari, Hamad Hamdi Almutairi, and Nasser Marzouq Alwaalan.

Acting Director of Kuwait University Prof. Suad Alfadhli congratulated the award winning students, stressing that their success reflects the efforts of all Kuwaiti institutions in their implementation of the new Kuwait Vision 2035 national development plan. Professor Alfadhli further praised the Ministry of Oil’s role in organizing the competition, noting that Kuwait University’s participation in the competition through its student participants and faculty members on the competition’s judging committee is a particular point of pride for the university.

The Director of the Public Relations and Media Department at the Ministry of Oil, Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, stated that (Hackathon 2022), in its second iteration, aims to showcase talented Kuwaiti youth and give them a platform to present their projects. Al-sabah further remarked that prizes were distributed to recipients inside and outside Kuwait with the participation of regional institutions. 

In the closing ceremony, the Ministry of Oil formally honored Kuwait University as a partner to the success of the Digital Transformation Competition.
