Setting the Standard: Kuwait University's Engineering College Leads with ISO Quality Certification

The acting dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University, Professor Ayed Atallah Salman, announced that the college has received the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification. This achievement came after successfully meeting all required conditions and standards, and passing thorough audits by the international company, Royal Cert. The college is among the first in Kuwait University to earn this certification.

Professor Salman stated that obtaining the ISO certification would enhance the integration between different management systems and accelerate the steps towards automating and digitizing the college's operations.

Assistant Dean for Planning, Consultancy, and Training, Dr. Osama Ali Al-Omair, mentioned that this certification is a culmination of the college's efforts to document and develop its procedures using advanced technology. It reflects the high level of service provided by the college, its continuous pursuit of improvement to offer high-quality services in an efficient environment, aligning with the college and university's vision to keep up with excellence in work mechanisms and applications. The certification also underscores the college's commitment to applying the highest quality, safety, and excellence standards in its services, supporting the success of its future plans and strategic goals aligned with the university and government objectives.

Receiving the ISO certification enhances the connection between the college and both the government and private sectors by continuously developing standards that meet the job market's needs and requirements.

The team responsible for implementing the ISO 9001:2015 Quality System in the college, Engineer Ghazi Sari Al-Shamri and Engineer Marwa Sulaiman Al-Essa, stated that the ISO system standardizes systems, processes, and criteria for work, ensuring all instructions and necessary procedures are documented in accordance with the standards related to improving the services offered.

They also mentioned that several meetings were held with the relevant offices and departments involved in the certification, including the Dean's office, assistant deans, the Engineering Training and Graduates Office, the Administrative Manager's Office, and representatives of the certification company, to ensure compliance with the followed standards.
