Principles

Infrared light emitted from a source is directed into an interferometer, which modulates the light. After the interferometer, the light passes through the sample compartment (and also the sample) and is then focused onto the detector. The signal measured by the detector is called the interferogram.

Capabilities

  • Fast spectral collection and superior analytical performance provides high-quality spectra in seconds, for high productivity and confidence in results.
  • The system has a long operation lifetime with easy to change components (such as sources and detectors) meaning less downtime is required, saving time and money.
  • Intuitive software operation, which allows the performance of all common functions such as method selection, scanning, searching, predicting concentrations, and reporting with a simple click of a button.
  • Spectral Searching - Simple to create spectral libraries and single-click search functions for both custom-built and commercial spectral libraries.

Application

  • QA/QC of raw material and final products.
  • Simple in-house spectral database development.
  • Routine synthesis verification.
  • Reaction monitoring.
  • Determination of hydrocarbon contamination in water.
  • Sample defect and surface contamination analysis.
  • Teaching and research laboratory experiments.
