About the Program

Our Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is a comprehensive program that requires a minimum of 132 credit hours for completion. The curriculum is divided into four main categories to ensure a well-rounded education: General Education Courses, Mathematics and Basic Science Courses, College of Engineering Requirements, and Major Requirements.

Curriculum Highlights

General Education Courses (18 Credits): Students begin with foundational courses in writing skills and can choose from a variety of electives including Kuwait Modern and Contemporary History or History of Arab and Islamic Civilization, alongside humanities and social science courses.

Mathematics and Basic Science Courses (27 Credits): These courses lay the groundwork for engineering principles, including multiple levels of Calculus, Linear Algebra, General Chemistry, and Physics.

College of Engineering Requirements (28 Credits): A mix of common engineering courses and other engineering disciplines to provide a broad understanding of engineering fundamentals.

Major Requirements (59 Credits): The heart of the program, focusing on Mechanical Engineering with courses ranging from Material Science to Mechanical Vibrations and Energy Systems Design.

Elective Courses

To tailor the educational experience to individual interests and career goals, students can choose from an extensive list of elective courses covering areas like Mechatronics, Renewable Energy, Advanced Material Science, and much more.
